Actors work in different media like television, theater, films etc. An actor portrays different characters in every new project they work. An actor may not have regular employment. They work as per the contracts they sign or the work they are offered by any agency. Hence, an actor may find it difficult to draft a resume. Since, most candidates looking for work as an actor do not have relevant work experience or have huge gap between each job. Since you are applying for acting job, you can even mention your personal details such as birth date, height, weight, hair color and eye color, as the actors appearance is also considered while short listing candidates for the job.

  • Career Objective: In this section clearly mention the kind of work you are looking for. Let the employer know whether you would like to work in television, or theater or movies. By reading the career objective section the employer should get complete idea about the kind of work you are looking for.

  • Skills and Core Competencies: Highlight skills relevant to the job you are applying for. If you are aware that the role you are applying for needs good dance background, then you need to mention details about your proficiency in various dance forms. Your resume can even contain your martial arts training details, proficiency in speaking different languages, singing skills, participation in sports etc. You also need to highlight your acting details.

  • Career History: Career history can be divided into different parts such as your experience in theater, movies, and television. List the name of the plays, television shows or movies that you have worked in. If you have worked in any famous play or television show, then mention the name of the character that you have portrayed.

  • Achievements: It is important to use bullet points to list your achievements as an actor. Using bullet points will help you to get the employers attention. You should list your major achievements as an actor in this section. Mention the details of the awards you received for your excellent performance in drama, television or films.
